  • AgChoice Donates to Keystone SMILES Community Learning Center

    July 09, 2018

The contribution supports AgChoice's mission of fostering growth in rural communities.

As part of its annual customer appreciation event, AgChoice Farm Credit’s Meadville branch donated $250 to the Keystone SMILES Community Learning Center.

Keystone SMILES works with the Safe Kids Clarion-Venango Coalition to organize farm safety training for local second grade students. Volunteers from emergency services, local farmers and other community groups deliver the lessons, which range from first aid and bicycle safety to equipment operation and animal handling. Keystone SMILES will apply AgChoice’s donation to the 2019 Venango County Progressive Agricultural Safety Day.

“As an agricultural cooperative, we believe that community involvement is mission critical,” said Jim Hoge, AgChoice regional lending manager. “We are proud to honor Keystone SMILES for their support of local agriculture and the youth who represent the industry’s future.”

AgChoice employees and directors hosted the customer appreciation event at The Movies at Meadville. More than 250 customer-owners and their families enjoyed a complimentary meal, door prizes and entry to a movie of their choice. At last year’s event, AgChoice made a similar donation to Mercer County Dairy Promotion.
