He is president of the Fayette County Fair Board and a board member of the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council and the Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus Advisory Board. Bill also serves on the AgFirst Farm Credit Bank Board of Directors. We asked Bill a few questions about what inspired him to join AgChoice.

Check out his answers below, and be sure to say hello at our next event!

One fun fact about your business or career:
Our family has been processing and bottling a portion of our milk continuously since 1958.

Why did you choose to work with AgChoice for your financing needs?
My family has been borrowing from Farm Credit for multiple generations. I am happy with the excellent customer service that we receive.

Why did you decide to run for the Board of Directors?
In addition to being multi-generational borrowers, I watched my father serve as a Farm Credit Board member. That background and my desire to be involved, led me to seek a position on the AgChoice Board when the opportunity arose.

How has the Cooperative changed through the years?
During my tenure, new technology has driven many changes. Our customers expect the latest options and often, will look to our competitors if we fall behind. We must offer competitive technology while also maintaining relationships and leveraging our knowledge of our customers’ businesses to continue to be a leader in agricultural lending.

Advice you’d share with other customer-owners considering running for the nominating committee or a board seat in the future?
I would strongly encourage anyone to run for the Board. If elected, a customer will learn a lot about managing a business they can take back to their own business. The educational and networking opportunities available are invaluable. I’ve never known anyone who became a board member, who wasn’t happy with the decision. Friendships that last a lifetime are an added bonus.

AgChoice has the pleasure of working with a dynamic Board of Directors that helps to provide strategic direction and oversight. Interested in becoming more involved with AgChoice? For more information on becoming a member of the AgChoice Board of Directors, view our Board Leadership Brochure
